He completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Izmir. He completed his undergraduate degree in 2004 and his master's degree at Selcuk University in 2008 with his thesis titled “Investigation of Branding Levels of Small-Scale Enterprises in Turkish Leather Apparel Industry”. In 2013, he defended his doctoral dissertation at Gazi University with the title of “The Effects of the Supply, Production and Logistics Activities of Textile-Apparel Enterprises (SMEs) in Turkey on National Competition”.

He has been continuing his academic life at Hitit University since 2009. Kaya's research areas are as follows: Design, ergonomics, textile and apparel management.

Dr. Kaya has many articles published in national and international journals and mixed and personal exhibitions.

He is a member of the Turkish Ergonomics Association.
